About Us
V&L Construction Group is a family-owned construction company, founded in 2014 in Morris, Illinois, and now home-based in Frankfort, Illinois, serving homeowners across the Midwest region. We build high-end custom homes and commercial build-outs, and we also take on renovations of every size: kitchens, bathrooms, basements and roofing. One call. Every trade.
What makes us different is simple: we care, and we treat your project like it's our own. We listen first, come up with a plan, and execute. And because we've done this for years, we solve problems before they become problems.
The spaces we build are where your memories get made, and we want our signature on every one. Years from now, we want to drive past and say: we built that, and have it still look amazing.

Meet the Founder
I'm the same person at work and outside of it: a happy person who thanks God every day for another opportunity. I came up as a tile setter, fell in love with the trades, and never looked back. Somebody once asked if I was afraid of not succeeding. That's not in my vocabulary.
My philosophy is simple: execute, do it right, do it on time, and communicate everything, because a lot of the time you're still living in the home while we work. When we open up a wall and find something, we don't just point at the problem; we come back with solutions, what it costs, and why. Clients appreciate an honest contractor. That's who we are.
The one thing I'll never compromise on is my integrity. If a floor isn't installed right, it comes out, even if I have to go buy another box. You don't let just anyone into your home. If you trust me with yours, I'm going to prove you made the right choice.
Outside of work, family is everything: my wife and my two kids. I love sports, music, traveling, a good wine, and dancing. If you see me dancing on a jobsite with no music playing, that's how you know we're moving.
Our Story
I came to this country at 16 and decided to make something of it. I worked two jobs: busboy and dishwasher during the week, selling shoes at the flea market on weekends. That's where I learned customer service: watching servers connect with people and thinking, I want to do that. I worked my way up in restaurants for years and figured I'd open my own one day. But God had different plans.
A regular at the restaurant worked in construction, and I started spending my days off learning the trade from him. Then I got fired from the restaurant, and honestly, I'm thankful for it, because I went full speed into construction. It was me and my truck. We traded in our SUV for a work van, opened a credit line, and filled a cart with almost $5,000 in tools. There was no going back.
The name V&L came from my last name, Valverde, and the partner I started with. A few months in, he needed a steady paycheck for his family. He told me: give me a set of tools, and the company is yours. We shook hands, and V&L was mine. Quitting was not an option for me. So V&L stands for two last names. But in this next generation, it stands for Values and Love.
My first break was working with a company that gave me and my two partners a project and four weeks to finish it. We did it in three, and they asked where I'd been all along. From that very first job I ran the same system V&L runs today: materials listed every morning and staged by trade, every step in order, no mistakes, because my job is to set my team up for success.
Two guys became four, then eight, then more than twenty, and today we partner with dedicated companies in every trade. We spent two years building our showroom and offices in Frankfort, and it's exactly what I pictured when I started. Now it's not only my dream. It's everybody's.

Earning your trust isn't a slogan. It's what happens on the jobsite. We show up no matter the size of the project, and we do it right the first time.
Construction is messy, but it doesn't have to be: if you're living in the home while we work, we clean up every day. This isn't a job to us. It's our profession, and everyone we bring into your home is held to that standard.
And when something goes wrong, because in construction something always can, we fix it, at any cost. Not a patch: the right solution. Then we ask why it happened, so it never happens again.
Without our customers, there is no V&L. You trust us with the place where your memories get made, and our goal on every project is to exceed your expectations.
In the next five years, we see V&L building communities: beautiful homes people will make memories in, and opportunities for the people who grow with us. Because we're not just building projects. We're building this community, together.
